Why should I play in the Tournament?  There are obviously many choices out there. The question is if you want to play fantasy football that was solely created for competitive players in large groups for big prizes, or just play old-fashioned league style which was never meant to accommodate more than about a dozen people. While league play is tweaked and cajoled so it looks like it might fit the big arena, it falls short in many ways that tournament-style was specifically created to eliminate.

The FFTOC did not take an old idea and try to make it fit what it was not, nor did we have any desire to just cash in on the flood of high-stakes leagues. As veteran fantasy players and long-time proprietors of fantasy football sites, we have carefully designed the FFTOC to appeal to the big arena. We devised a game that uses all the same skills but structured it so that all teams have the exact same chances. We’ve removed the inherent pitfalls of banding dozens and dozens of leagues into a single contest and pumped up the level of play with far more strategy and control over your team.

The question is why put up money elsewhere to play on an uneven field where random luck and uncontrollable circumstances play such a significant role? Control your destiny in the FFTOC… or take your chances elsewhere.

Can anyone play in the FFTOC? As long as you are 21 years of age or older and a legal residents of the 50 United States, Washington D.C., and Canada (excluding Puerto Rico and Quebec), excluding the restricted states (Arizona, Iowa, Louisiana,  Montana and Vermont), you are eligible to play in the FFTOC. See the Terms page for more details.

Why do you exclude people from certain states from playing? Unfortunately, the laws of those states either prohibit or are sufficiently vague enough to cause participation in the FFTOC to be a potential problem. While this is just fantasy football, there are places that have yet to properly define it legally and we want to avoid problems for both ourselves and all participants.

How will I know that I have reserved a spot in the FFTOC? You will receive an email confirmation and credentials for your entry fee. In the case of personal checks, we will contact you once the check has been validated generally within two weeks.

Is my money safe with the FFTOC?  Absolutely. The FFTOC started back in 2004 and we have an excellent track record with years of experience in the fantasy sports industry. The FFTOC management team includes “founding fathers” of fantasy football sites on the internet. The FFTOC is an extension of those fantasy information sites, not just a business venture by individuals. All prize monies will be held and secured at Bank of America, one of the nation's leading financial institutions.

Will you deduct taxes from my prize money?  No. We will award the amounts listed in the rules to the winners in full. The payment of any applicable taxes is your responsibility and we strongly suggest you do not try playing “fantasy 1040” with the IRS. We will be both reporting to the IRS regarding awards over $600 and sending all those winners the necessary tax forms.

What if you do not fill an entire tournament? We're not trying to fill a quote of managers in the tournaments. Once a tournament starts, it goes regardless of the number of managers in each event.

Do you have a refund policy? Once a payment is received, a team is considered officially and legally registered. In the highly unlikely event of a tournament cancellation, the full entry fee will be refunded. Barring an act of God or war, moving forward we plan to run all tournaments.

Can I have a co-manager?  Sure, you can have as many people help manage your team as you would like. However – for the purposes of registration, taxes and payment of prize monies there can only be one person considered the legal participant in the FFTOC. An agreement between that person and anyone they want to share in the rewards is solely between those agreeing parties. We would recommend consulting a CPA or someone knowledgeable about your Federal and State tax laws and have a contract between the manager and any co-managers so that you can be sure in advance what the tax implications will be for you.

Are there any costs other than the entry fee? No. When you pay the entry fee there are no additional costs associated with playing in the FFTOC.  You will not need to travel or obtain a hotel room as there is no draft to attend. All you need to do is pay your entry fee and be registered and then submit valid starting lineups each week.

If I have trouble getting online, can I call in my weekly lineup? In an emergency, you can call in your line-up from 9-11AM ET on NFL Sundays. The phone number is 919-306-1015. Personal identity verification will be required on all call-ins. The FFTOC is not responsible if emergency call-in volume results in busy signals and the FFTOC is not responsible for any errors or miscommunications that result from your lineup being submitted via phone. The emergency line is only functional Sunday from 9-11AM ET and only for emergency lineup submissions. No voice mail messages will be accepted. No voice mail lineups or email lineups will be accepted. To be fair to all, these rules will be applied with no expectations. Using your MyTeam Page is always your best option for lineup submission.
