Rules of the 2008 Fantasy Football Tournament of Champions™
1. Overview: The Fantasy Football Tournament of Champions™ (FFTOC)
will consist of two seperate games in 2008.
The FFTOC has a $75 entry tournament and a $250 entry tournament
(The Online Championship of Fantasy Football). All tournaments operate separately and have no impact on the operation or prize structure of the other.
a. $75 entry game: The $75 game will have teams organized into
six team brackets. The regular season will extend from NFL week 1 through NFL week 12. The
top-33.33% highest scoring through those first 12 weeks will
advance to the Finals, which will run from NFL week 13 through NFL week 16.
a. $250 entry game: The $250 game will have teams organized into
six team brackets. The regular season will extend from NFL week 1 through NFL week 12. The
top-33.33% highest scoring through those first 12 weeks will
advance to the Finals, which will run from NFL week 13 through NFL week 16.
2. Available Players:
a. FFTOC Player Pool: Prior to week 1 of the NFL regular
season the FFTOC Player Pool will be defined by the FFTOC commissioner,
Fantasy Tournaments LLC. This Player Pool will include approximately
500 NFL players that are on current NFL team rosters. All players will be assigned an
FFTOC position based on their official NFL designated position.
In short, almost all players on an NFL team roster at the start of the NFL regular season at the
positions of quarterback, running back, wide receiver, tight end and kicker will make up
the official Player Pool. This Player Pool will also include all NFL Teams to be used
in the team defense position.
b. Once Play Begins:
After the start of the NFL regular season any player
that is added to an NFL team roster will be added to the official Player Pool each Tuesday.
The official stats vendor of the FFTOC will determine these Player Pool additions.
Any player in the FFTOC Player Pool
who has to-date not been started by a team manager is available to
that team manager for their starting lineup. Once an NFL player
has been started by a team manager that player is no longer available
to that team manager to use in his starting lineups for the remainder
of the FFTOC regular season and Finals.
3. Weekly Play: Starting in NFL week 1, all team
managers will fill out their starting lineup by selecting from the
initial FFTOC Player Pool of NFL players. After the start of the NFL regular season, if a player
is added to an NFL team roster, they will be added to the official Player Pool and made available
the following Tuesday. Beginning in NFL week 2
and for all successive NFL weeks, team managers will continue to select
from the FFTOC Player Pool any player they want as starters but will
be unable to choose any NFL player that they have already used.
4. Lineups Requirements: Starting lineups will consist
of the following:
- 1 Quarterback
- 2 Running Backs
- 3 Wide Receivers
- 1 Tight End
- 1 Place Kicker
- 1 Team Defense/Special team
5. League Management Web Address: You
can access your team via the internet by going to http://www.fftoc.com.
6. Lineup Submission: Lineups must be submitted
either via the "My Team" web page at http://www.fftoc.com,
or by phone in emergency situations only. It is the responsibility
of each team manager to submit timely, valid starting lineups each week.
In an emergency, you can call in your line-up from 9-11AM ET on NFL
Sundays. The phone number is 919-306-1015. Personal identity verification will be required on all call-ins. The
FFTOC is not responsible if emergency call-in volume results in busy signals and the FFTOC is not responsible for any
errors or miscommunications that result from your lineup being submitted via phone. The emergency line is only functional
Sunday from 9-11AM ET and only for emergency lineup submissions. No voice mail messages will be accepted. No voice
mail lineups or email lineups will be accepted. To be fair to all, these rules will be applied with no expectations.
Using your is always your
best option for lineup submission.
a. Submission Time:
Starting players must be submitted into your starting lineup 10 minutes before their game kicks off.
b. Committed Starting Players: A starting player is considered "committed"
to your lineup as of 10 minutes before their game kicks off. Non-committed
players in a starting lineup can be changed up to 10 minutes prior to their game
kicking off. For example, players
committed by an FFTOC team manager at kickoff of a Thursday game can
not be changed, but the non-committed starting lineup players can
be up until 10 minutes before their game kicks off (e.g. Sunday morning).
This rule applies to non-committed players
in a Monday night game also. For example, non-committed starting
lineup players following Sunday’s games may be changed to another
available player up until 10 minutes before kickoff of the Monday night game.
c. No Starters Submitted: It is the responsibility of each team manager to submit timely,
valid starting lineups each week. Failure to submit a lineup
will result in zero points.
7. Scoring:
a. Calculations: Scoring will be calculated out to the
hundredth for all players (e.g. 23.15).
b. NFL Players: Quarterbacks, Running Backs, Wide Receivers, Tight Ends and Place Kickers
may score from any position on the field in the following manner:
6 points for touchdowns scored passing, receiving, rushing, fumble recovery, punt or kick return.
0.04 point for each yard passed. (e.g. 200 yards passing equals 8.00 fantasy points)
0.1 point for each yard rushed or received. (e.g. 83 combined yards equals 8.3 fantasy points)
2 points for each 2-point conversion passing, receiving, rushing or fumble recovery.
3 points for each field goal kicked.
1 point for each extra point kicked.
Note: To clarify, all NFL Players are graded out using the
following formula.
Points =
rushyds/10
+recyds/10
+passyds/25
+6*fumtd
+6*intTD
+6*kickretTD
+6*puntretTD
+6*passTD
+6*runTD
+6*recTD
+6*othertd
+xpm
+3*fgm
+2*2ptrun
+2*2ptrec
+2*2ptpass
In other words, all players get credit (+/-) for their stats.
c. Team Defense / Special Team
6 points for touchdowns scored
on kick returns, punt returns, interception return, fumble return, blocked field goal return, missed field
goal return, blocked punt return. (NOTE: touchdowns scored on “fake” field goals or “fake” punts do
NOT count as a defense/special teams score. Touchdowns scored by the offensive team after a
blocked field goal or blocked punt do NOT count as a defense/special teams score)
1 point per turnover.
1 point per sack.
2 points per safety.

8. Regular Season Bracket Winners: At the end of NFL week 12, the team that
has the highest total points within their bracket will be deemed the
bracket winner for purposes of prize awards.
9. Finals Qualification: NFL week 12 signals the end of the
FFTOC Regular Season and the brackets are then disbanded.
The top 33.33% highest scoring teams in the $75 entry fee game from the regular season advance to
play for four more weeks during the Finals (week 13-16).
Likewise, the top 33.33% highest scoring teams in the $250 entry fee game from the regular season advance to
play for four more weeks during the Finals (week 13-16).
In the event of a tie in total points scored for the
determination of the top 33.33% of contestants, all tying teams will share
the same ranking. For example, in the $75 entry fee game with 600 teams playing,
if two teams had the exact same total points scored and that score was the 200th highest score,
both teams would be ranked 200th and both would advance
to the Finals.
10. The FFTOC Finals: The FFTOC Finals will exist for NFL
weeks 13, 14, 15 and 16. During those four weeks, the resulting total
scores of each team will be used to determine the final rankings based
on highest total points scored. All points accumulated by teams during
the first twelve weeks of the season have no bearing on the FFTOC
Finals other than determining the contestants who qualify to advance
to the Finals. During these four weeks, team managers will still only
be able to start players that they have not yet used in the Regular
Season or Finals.
11. FFTOC Finals Winners: At the conclusion of the FFTOC
Finals, teams will be ranked based upon total
points scored during the four Finals weeks.
12. Prize Breakdown:
